At AboutWood, we take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our furniture and deco. We are committed to providing our customers with products that meet their expectations and offer long-lasting durability. In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa, our guarantee policy outlines your rights and our commitments when it comes to the quality and performance of our furniture.
- Guarantee Policy
1.1 Product Guarantee
AboutWood guarantees that all our products are free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase.
This guarantee applies to intended use and does not cover defects resulting from misuse, abuse, alterations, or improper maintenance.
1.2 Coverage
Our guarantee covers workmanship on laminations & structural components.
It does not cover normal wear and tear, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and fading due to exposure to sunlight or other environmental factors.
1.3 Remedies
If a defect is found during the guarantee period, AboutWood will, at its discretion, repair the defective product, replace it with a comparable product, or refund the purchase price.
To make a claim, customers must provide proof of purchase and provide AboutWood access to the product for physical inspection and assessment for a claim to be successful. We do not cover any logistics for return shipping.
- Consumer Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act
2.1 Statutory Rights
The guarantees offered by AboutWood are in addition to and do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa.
Consumers have the right to return goods within 6 months of purchase if they are not of good quality, are defective, or do not perform as advertised. In such cases, consumers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
2.2 Cooling-Off Period
For online purchases, consumers have the right to cancel the purchase within 7 days of receiving the goods, without penalty and without giving any reason, as per the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

In the event of a dispute, consumers are encouraged to contact our customer service team to seek a resolution. If a satisfactory resolution cannot be achieved, consumers may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or other relevant consumer protection bodies.
